Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

ABC Reporter Arrested Taking Pictures of Senators, Big Donors

Boy did these guys pick the wrong guys to arrest. Even though ABC is quite liberal, they will protect their own. I would look for a major story on donors and the Senators they hang with.

ABC Reporter Arrested in Denver Taking Pictures of Senators, Big Donors

Asa Eslocker Was Investigating the Role of Lobbyists and Top Donors at the Convention

DENVER -- Police in Denver arrested an ABC News producer today as he and a camera crew were attempting to take pictures on a public sidewalk of Democratic senators and VIP donors leaving a private meeting at the Brown Palace Hotel.

Police in Denver arrested an ABC News producer today as he was attempting to take pictures of Democratic senators and VIP donors leaving a private meeting at the Brown Palace Hotel.
Police on the scene refused to tell ABC lawyers the charges against the producer, Asa Eslocker, who works with the ABC News investigative unit.

([LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. ) A cigar-smoking Denver police sergeant, accompanied by a team of five other officers, first put his hands on Eslocker's neck, then twisted the producer's arm behind him to put on handcuffs.

A police official later told lawyers for ABC News that Eslocker is being charged with trespass, interference, and failure to follow a lawful order. He also said the arrest followed a signed complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel.

Eslocker was put in handcuffs and loaded in the back of a police van which headed for a nearby police station.

Video taken at the scene shows a man, wearing the uniform of a Boulder County sheriff, ordering Eslocker off the sidewalk in front of the hotel, to the side of the entrance.

The sheriff's officer is seen telling Eslocker the sidewalk is owned by the hotel. Later, he is seen pushing Eslocker off the sidewalk into oncoming traffic, forcing him to the other side of the street.

It was two hours later when Denver police arrived to place Eslocker under arrest, apparently based on a complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel, a central location for Democratic officials.

During the arrest, one of the officers can be heard saying to Eslocker, "You're lucky I didn't knock the f..k out of you."

Eslocker was released late today after posting $500 bond.

Eslocker and his ABC News colleagues are spending the week investigating the role of corporate lobbyists and wealthy donors at the convention for a series of Money Trail reports on ABC's "World News with Charles Gibson."

Since when do sidewalks that are paid for with public money 'belong' to any specific business? The cop that was pushing the reporter into oncoming traffic should be charged with reckless endangerment.

I believe the democrats are going to come out of this convention worse off then they were.

This is typical of police harrassment, and political influence. The reporter was on a public side walk doing his thing. The dems didn't like it so they had the hotel complain to police about the reporters interferring with business, or tresspassing. The police tell the reporter to leave.... the reporter doesn't, so now the officer can arrest the guy because he refused to obey an order by a police officer... even though it was lawful.... typical police abuse and manipulation of the laws.

This how police, if he wants to, can arrest anybody they want... They'll keep esculating the situation until you do something that is illegal, then they got you.

I doubt ABC even makes a big deal out of it. They'll work out some deal with the dems... some kind of exclusive interview with Obam and they'll drop the entire thing. Watch and see...

You could be right Cav, but sometimes the news gets pizzed off enough that they want to really make someone look bad. And they can if they want. But since most are in the tank for Obama, you may be right and they will sell out for a few private interviews. Hope not, it would be nice to see them do a good thing for all and screw these over zealous cops.

I bet you will not hear another thing about this story... They will bury it because they know it will hurt the Dems.... ABC being who they are will not cover the story and probably would not of aired the reporters findings anyways.. unless they found a way to let it help the Dems
