Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

Politics and the Fannie Mae Piggy Bank

Politics and the Fannie Mae Piggy Bank
Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelick, and some very cooked books.

On May 23, 2006, as a jury in Houston deliberated the case against top Enron executives Kenneth Lay and Jeffrey Skilling, a little-known regulatory agency in Washington, the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO), released a study with the dryly bureaucratic title “Report of the Special Examination of Fannie Mae.” The document received far less attention than the news from Enron, but its conclusions were stunning. In meticulous detail, it outlined a culture of corruption at the Federal National Mortgage Association — better known as Fannie Mae — that rivals the most serious corporate scandals in recent years. In this case, however, the main players are Washington insiders — some of them prominent veterans of the Clinton administration — and the scandal’s effects could ripple through Congress for years.

If you read and search further, you will find closer ties to the Bush administration.

No,,,spit, and every other prez since Carter. The interlocks on these and other corp. boards is astounding. Follow the finance news story trails. Name to name and company to company. Shrub, errr Bush is just the present duck in the puddle. Why is he not screaming? Why are the look-outs for us little poeple, the Democrats, not having a running S-fit. They are both in the cookie jar to the armpit and we get to pay the bill. See above, follow the trail. It was easy.

Intentionally obtuse? Go to google finance look at stories on this and take names. Then search in finance news stories for name/company stories. Read em. Take names. Search for stories on those names. You will find interlocking company board directorships abounding in this as well as many other businesses. Defense contractors to home builders to you name it. very cosey. The SEC, in case you didn't know it was originally intended to protect us from these kinds of corporate abuses. A very shallow look will show both sides have a dog in this hunt.

Went back, I get to sputtering and not speaking clearly when I'm P.O.ed. Sorry. The links go on and on it is sickening. God save us. Our mis-leaders won't.
