Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

Americans and the US Government should have credit frozen. WE ARE NEARLY 10 TRILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT!!!!!! Maybe they will start doing things the old fashion way, get a second job and spend less money. It works for me and it should work for our wasteful government.

My whole problem with this is the RUSH they are in to pass it. WHY the rush? It took months and months to decide to pass something to help the struggling homeowners why does something way more EXPENSIVE for CORP AMERICA need to be done in a matter of hours.

Something is not right with this and the American People will once again be wronged...

Personally, I think credit is the root of the problem. The credit freeze may be the best thing to happen.

I am torn on the issue of the bailout. If the money is somewhat good, let the companies deal with the mess they let themselves get into. I have seen many comments here about not helping the individuals because they let themselves get into the problem. Well, I believe the companies did too.

I can see the economic problems that can result from such a stand, but I really doubt the companies will learn if they are aided in such a way.

Mortgages are credit, if you are a QUALIFIED borrower, you are a very low risk.

Auto loans are credit.

Business loans are credit, small businesses need money to start up.

You freeze credit, you stop sales of homes, severely affect new car sales and curtail new business creation.

None of those are a good idea for the economy.

That is why I am torn.

I have no need for any.

However, the freeze has affected my income alot. No sales on the product I deliver.

I am in the same boat as you. I will not be terribly impacted by recession if it happens. I know many who will be. I went broke in early 90's thanks to IRS, cheating fiance, and some of my own dumb decisions. But since then I have learned to never depend on the Gov or anyone else for my well being. Don't know if it is best to help now and have an even worse problem in a few years or go ahead and take our medicine now and start a real healing process. Have contacted all my reps and told them at the least I want severe consequences for all lender and applicants who participated in anything fraudulent. Rico worked on the Gambino family and many drug dealers. I see no reason why these crooks should be handled any differently. They should have all assets seized if found guilty.

Need change to bailout bill..

Need to add one thing to the $700B bailout bill---wont cost us a thing!

Just add a rider to it saying "OK to drill offshore 0-50 miles."

Come on Repubs, where's your cajones..!?!

That is the problem with politics. They can never just do a straight item bill. Somebody adds something to mess up the plan.

I sent this to Senator Obama, I wanted to send this to Senator Durbin as well but wouldn't let me cause it didn't have a subject box

Dear Senator Obama:

I'd like to express my concerns on the proposed bail out. I'm against the bail out plan because why should you bail out a large corporation who mismanaged their funds and ran their business into the ground? The government is willing to bail out big business on Wall Street but won't do something similar to thousands of small business' that keep America going. It's in the best interest for America if you vote against this bill.

Thank you for your time,

Larry

all this is,is a bandaid on a very large problem, all of it originating in Washington.

we have an idiot president,a do nothing congress populated by greedy people that have their piece of the pie and want even more.

you cannot blame the democrats or the republicans but blame each and every one of them as not one of them has done what they were elected to do.

the problems as I see them are GREED, NAFTA, the ENERGY crisis, and no oversight on what business does to the common man, fix these problems and we would go a long way in restoring our country to what it should be
