Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

I am with Ronno 100%on this.. The consequences of not doing this are far greater then just our own economy. It would have a world wide effect (I am one who cares less about other economies other then are own) and how do you think their reaction towards us will be..

Somebody mentioned there are other ideals on how to fix this... Please tell me what those ideals are.. Because nobody has a 100% fix it plan..

I already mentioned two of the alternative ideas (no "L"). Anytime anyone tells you there's only one solution, you know they're either stupid or lying.

The people in Washington have found a solution that lines their pockets and/or their buddies pockets and screws the American people. I don't want my money going to bail out a corporation that mismanaged itself any more than I want my money going to pay for cell phones for welfare [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. .

Bail out agreement as written is DOA. McCain and the Republicans said "no way"

My Congress woman Grainger said today on radio that this was one of the most pressing and frustrating things in her 10+ yrs in congress. Wants more time to find alternatives and Pelosi says they must take off next week for Jewish holidays. WTF! Said that they are being heavily pressured to hurry up but 100 to 1 negatives from constituants have more ummph in her mind. Hope she holds to her guns. I am willing to take a little xtra time and get it as right as the Gov is able to.

Hell no should they take off next week... We have a serious situation that needs to be addressed NOW and they don't need to be taking any vacations till they get something done about it... Thats what we send them to Washington to do, not to be taking vacations when things as urgent as this are presented.

I assume that you are referring to public debt here and not private debt which is an entirely different problem.

I will ask though; how can the government do things "the old fashioned way" and get a second job? Remember, the governments function is to spend and redistribute money- it has never earned a dime in it's life!
How would you suggest that the government spend less money?
If you dare say something like "eliminate waste and cut off welfare", I'm gonna have a good belly laugh and then hang up the phone- I'm done here.
