MSM Investigates Joe the Plumber While Ignoring Bill the Bomber

The mainstream media began a frenzied investigation of Joe the Plumber this week. His "high crime" wasn't anything he said. Instead Joe the Plumber has earned the ire of the MSM because of what Barack Obama said to him, namely that he wanted to "share the wealth." As a result of inadvertently revealing his collectivist yearnings to Joe the Plumber, the latter gentleman is having every last detail of his background investigated including his modest tax lien and the fact that (gasp!) his first name isn't really Joe. That last charge is actually quite laughable since there are probably millions of people in this country who don't use their first name (including your humble correspondent). Perhaps we should take a trip back in time and impeach President Thomas Woodrow Wilson for ditching his first name.
While the media have been falling over each other doing intensive investigations of Joe the Plumber, they have been mostly ignoring Barack Obama's good friend in whose living room his political career was launched in Chicago: Bill Ayers aka Bill the Bomber. There are two main reasons why the MSM chooses to ignore Bill the Bomber. One is that they don't want to do anything that might harm Obama's presidential campaign. The other reason is that many in the MSM share Bill the Bomber's values and therefore sympathize with him. The usual excuse for Bill the Bomber by the media is that maybe he was radical in the past but today he is a respected member of society. The only problem here that I see is:

Why haven't they been more proactive on him say since 1981, not just the last year.

Media unfortunately chooses what they will report. It is based on what they feel will sell and their perception of what the public is interested in.

It is alot like OJ. It is up to the government to pursue, but then again, the bill of rights got in the way. Guess it is time to throw it out.

And we can throw out the Constitution while we're at it, since absolutely no one in the federal gov't. ever pays attention to it either!

I think the MSM and Obama's crew are going to do more damage to Obama's campaign by focusing on 'Joe the Plumber' that they would have by focusing on Ayers. Ayers is a schmuck who should, at the very least be behind bars. 'Joe the Plumber' is an average, everyday American, just trying to get by and maybe better himself a bit. Attacking 'Joe the Plumber' is like attacking 'Bess the Baker' or 'Evan the Electrician' - they are your neighbors.

Notice how Obama's numbers have been slipping ever since the 'Joe the Plumber' thing broke? That's because people are seeing that maybe Obama's 'Share the Wealth' plan is going to tap into their pockets if they have a successful business. Not to mention the fact that the MSM is digging into this guy's life like he's a candidate and they don't like that. Joe did nothing wrong. He just asked a question, and he's being raked over the coals just for asking a question.

Actually it depends on which poll you look at.

Some show McCain ahead by a couple. Others show Obama by 11.

They haven't cared about Gov Palin, Cindy McCain's holdings, financial meltdown or many other things either. Until it comes time to make their darling Obama look good and their foes look inferior. Their job is to report the news-not make the news-twist the news-cover up the news. The MSM now days is a disgrace. Many don't even try to cover up their bias. If they want to give their opininions that is fine. But don't pretend to be a reporter. Tell everyone that you are a political commentaor not a reporter.

That is the way the news became after the hostage crisis. It was even that way during the Reagan years. They ran what they want.

There is a pretty easy way to determine the news from opinion. If there is an over abundance of adjectives then it's an opinion piece. If it's more like a text book, you may have an actual news story.

Like stated previously, I don't mind if all a program runs are one sided political pieces. Just don't pretend that you're unbiasedly reporting the news.

IF Obama was trying to get a regular Federal job, he could NOT because of his ties to Ayers. Period.
