Because they are "elitists". They (mostly on the left side of the aisle) think the gov't should be a "cradle to grave" apparatus, with "them" always in charge....of everything...cause they know best....like barney frank....chrissy dodd....chucky schumer....teddy....hillary...and now caroline, it would seem...

The problem is that there is segment (Party "B") in our society that would rather watch you (party "A") work, take the fruit of your labor (the largest cut), passing some of that share to others who like to watch others (Party "C") work but are just too lazy or stupid to do what party "B" does.
Party "B" will call you (Party "A") selfish and intolerant if you speak up against the stupidity .

Remember the Thanksgiving post I put up?

The Pilgrims tried Socialism and it failed, many starved.
It wasn't until the edict was put out that in order to eat, they had to work and become self-sustaining. After which, they had a surplus....

Look, here's the way I see it. You can and should control the actions of your children when they are children. However, you can't when they reach a certain age. Does it make you inept? Did it make my parents inept when their kids (including me) made poor choices as adults? NO What it made them was good parents who had good kids who as adults made stupid (and I mean stooooooooooooopid!) choices. And if you're so pure and perfect that your grown child has never made a choice you think is poor -- then give thanks for it, because you’re very lucky and blessed. And it doesn't always mean a parent is neglectful or inept when their teenager makes poor choices. Are we going to lock them up? Or maybe some of you have chastity belts on your daughters? Do you have breathalyzers on their cars? Did your parents?

And I'm not going to hold someone to a higher standard than I do myself or republicans just because they're democrats and even Kennedys. I don't think Ms Palin is inept as a governor because her teenage daughter decided to have pre-marital sex and I don't think Carolyn Kennedy is a poor mother or inept because her daughter is using drugs and/alcohol. It's just not proof enough for me.

However, I do have a problem with the idea that you're entitled to a political post because of your last name, or because your Uncle Teddy has the clout to get it for you. I'd like to debate that issue, not the issue of their daughters doing stupid things.

I don't remember the Thanksgiving post ya put up Ron. Regardless those of us who work will always be better off than the welfare recipients who smooch off the Government especially the blacks since we got ole dear leader in office. Honestly that is the main reason he won, it wasn't about change it was cause the blacks knew he would cater to them and let them smooch off the Government. I hate to stereotype part of my race like that but it's true!

Fact: Carolyn Kennedy would not even be considered for this position if her name wasn't "Kennedy" and if she wasn't the only living child of JFK.
