| Actually Rex they're very common place. You see it use to be that you could take kids to "fun" places but then the "progressive" government officials got involved and now certain percentages of field trips must be to "historical sites, museums, fine arts". Even for 5 year olds. I realize that you don't approve but unless I'm greatly mistaken you're not in charge of the school or the whitehouse. The whitehouse tours office made a committment, the school was late, the tour office decided to close the doors to get ready for a bunch of sports figures. The tour office has made a public relations blooper. It's that simple. I suggest you take your complaint to the school and I'm sure they'll listen to you, change their policy and all will be rosie again. Oh c'mon, laugh. Rex.................you know it as well as I do...................the tour office screwed up and that's just that. No matter whose administration it is....never ever EVER cancel on a group of cute 5 year olds because the press will nail the president for it. I feel sorry for Mr. Obama right now. Actually I think he wouldn't have canceled it had he known. But then I'm just making a wild guess. Maybe he's so evil he enjoyed watching the kids cry from the oval office window. but I don't think he did. |

| An explanation Well folks, I'll agree that this incident was most certainly a public relations gaffe on the part of the White House staff. On the other hand, the kids arrived about an hour late and when you're late for an appointment, no matter what the reason, there is always a chance that you'll be left out in the cold. Any of you people ever miss an appointment to unload? Most times you'll damned sure be turned away- that's just the way things work. On the third(?) hand, this thread was started by someone who seems to have a blind hatred of President Obama and who I am convinced posted this second tier news item as nothing more than another poke in the eye aimed at the President- with hope that we'd all see fit to somehow blame Mr. Obama for this fiasco. My function here as a moderate thinking person- and also as a citizen who has just about had a belly full of this nonsense is to dispute these posts at every turn, even if it did involve throwing these kids under the bus in this case. Since now we have all learned that these five year old children were not scheduled to meet the President after all (thanks Nana), and indeed the President had nothing AT ALL to do with any of this incident, I think that I have been successful in my endeavor to discredit this post. Thank you... rx

White House staffers make five-year-olds cry That was the thread title. As far as discrediting my anti-Obama threads "at every turn", you are going to be a very guy the next seven and a half years. I enjoy trashing this clown in the White House, I hope you enjoy defending him.
