What the hell did he just say???????????? Dude come on, that was about as disjointed as your heroes in congress when they push thru a bill of stupidity that they haven't read. Or maybe I didn't have enough coffee yet? Lets get a couple things straight that I did understand from your post. 1st I am not a Republican. I quite that loser party. 2nd I am giving your president as much respect as you gave Bush. Deal with it.

| dang it... I knew this would happen... I didn't get my tuna sandwich... came in from the car show and sat down in the easy chair waiting for everybody to use the can and get resettled.. dozed off... woke up to the little girl's voice telling me to wake up she'd made me a chicken salad sandwich, fritto's on the side and had an ice cold pepsi ready and waiting on me at the table... I suppose I could have stood up and reamed her??? demanding tuna or nothing... but I instead ate the chicken-salad and told her thank you even... say... have any of you guys ever noticed the third row of smiley faces on the side of the screen where you post replies?????? ..... ..... ???????????the two outside ones... the pink yelling one and the green blinking stuttering one???? _________![]() if you slowly cross your eyes so the outside images perfectly overlap one another, the faces seem to flash red/green back and forth with the eyes blinking crazy erratically... it looks just like a conservative who has started campaigning for palin 3 years early...

There are just as many whites (possibly more) living in the same conditions. Not a racial statement, in case anybody sees it as one. No matter what color we are...we are all the same boat, and its sinking. Nobody owes anybody anything IMO...slavery was a horrible thing and I'm glad its gone. But we (blacks and whites) lost more Freedom than we gained when the South lost that war...it just took 100 years for it show its true impact. |

| Amen to all that. Anybody who doubts that poor whites have it just as bad need to pay a visit to WV or any trailer park in SC. I honestly think some non-minorty poor have it worse because their skin tone or gender makes it more difficult to qualify for "gov help" Quote:

| My pet peeve has always been the inner cities.... for poverty. I think this is because most of the slums I've been thru were poverty stricken by design. No they didn't usually build ratty little houses and move poor people into them... but sometimes. Most cities have a definite pattern of where you will find the poor. Most generally in the older houses that used to be next to the heart of the downtown areas what would be considered prime realestate prior to the commonality of cars as transportation. When these owners did well in businesses in the city center they moved out as they could afford to commute. As poverty moved in slowly... the neighborhoods changed character and eventually the middle class began to flee the neighborhood and turn it over too the new lower class. A generation later the downtown was run down as the money and supporting infrastructure followed the middle class out to the suburbs. A few cities actually have areas of planned poverty... atlanta, detroit, and chicago actualy have "projects". the ratty little houses with no close by supporting infrastructure like jobs and groceries. Instead you often find high priced c-stores for the poor to try and shop out of. Country poor folks I've seen and been close to in california, utah, alabama, iowa and texas. Poverty is poverty mind you but if I had a choice of location, out of the city is where I'd like to be. You almost always have space to grow your own veggies and maybe raise your meat or else hunt and fish for it. Some still don't or can't garden in rural areas but per capita I have less sympathy vs those living in the concrete jungle where there is simply no room for the endeavor even if you had the inclination.
