Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

Wheeled Tractor

I did'nt get to sleep in my own bed the first 12-15 years as we were doing a lot of traveling for the general contractor we worked for. Although I'll give you this I did get to sleep in my camper trailer a lot not to mention all of the dive motels I got to call my temporary home. Not griping though at least I had a job and one that I enjoyed especially as a young man. Waybrot we built mostly commercial and yes that steel was scorching just like the heat coming off the plywood. It was get in shape & stay that way are find other work, but GOD help me I sure did love it when I was younger.Oh well being in the field is a young mans game!!

this is one area we should take a lesson from China on(and the only one.) time for the Great Wall of America. which when finished will be manned by miltary people with orders that have them shoot to kill anyone crossing the river.

then ICE/INS whatever they're called now will be tasked to track down the illegals to arrest and deport them. Anchor babies or not. shouldnt be too hard. look for any company that does alot of work with seemingly few employees on the tax books..

"...we have ALL succumbed (in part) to the indoctrination thru the "citizen allowed, if not encouraged REdefinition" of the job of Washington DC EMPLOYEES, hired to SERVE. NOT lead.

Generals lead. Sargeants lead. Commanders lead. NOT "congress persons" or a POTUS (except in military situations as commander in chief) but NOT to "citizens" they are elected to SERVE.
Never heard that truth explained so eloquently and simply. Awesome!
What happened to the days of a representive serving his community in D.C, but still having to earn a living back home? You are right, we have lost the meaning of the term "public servant"! Politicans are more concerned with re-election than their constituents desires or even best interests. They have become arrogant, self-serving obstacles that ought to be removed like a cancerous growth! IMHO.
Regarding illegal aliens destroying industries, it is correct to say they have destroyed several. But I see the legal alien as the next threat to trucking.
All the major companies are pushing to open our borders, salivating at the prospect of all that cheap labor, just eager to be exploited. Every thing the big companies endorse is calculated to dis-qualify American drivers (medical screenings), or further limit our productivity (EOBRs), or just plain make this job and our living conditions so intolerable that we just quit.(anti-idle laws). For the express purpose of forcing the goobermint to let mexicans drive here "legally" b/c there wont be enough capacity to handle the freight. just look at whats happening in our industry if u think I'm wrong.
Fire up the black helicoptors!
sorry 4 the rant

Doesn't seem like a "rant" to me, truckerdave. Simply stating your opinion of a cold, hard TRUTH.
Thanks!
