Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

Cooking The Unemployment Books Democrat Style

Truckers Unemployment for June went up only 0.1%, although 467,000 jobs were lost. In May, unemployment increased .5% with 504,000 jobs lost.

467,000 jobs lost adds only .1% to unemployment?

This really stinks.
If 467,000 job losses produces a 0.1% rise in unemployment, then you can calculate the total employment (jobs) you are basing this percentage on by dividing 467,000 by 0.001, right?
This number is a ridiculous 467,000,000 jobs.
Which means every person (including elderly & children) in the US is working approximately 1.4 jobs.
Last month 504,000 lost jobs resulted in a 0.5% rise, which results in 100,800,000 total employment. Which is probably a good number.

Not where you did obviously.
0.1 divided by 100 = 0.001

467,000 jobs lost equates to a .1% rise in unemployment.

0.1% is one tenth of one percent.

467,000 times 10 equals 1% (ten times .1%) gives you
467 000 times 10 = 4 670 000

so, 4,670,000 1% of workforce.

whats 4.670,000 times 100?

467,000,000

your math is still screwed dude...

but here is the raw data... and its only slightly cooked if at all...

the link takes you to the site and you can pull up a dookie load of different reports.

the primary reasons for any discrepency is how the data is collected and from whom... example: self employed are employed but are not paying thru like a business does... and this is how one of the statistics is collected, what gets turned in on taxes... versus an actual survey of people, are you working? you get 2 different numbers...

0.1% and 0.001 are the same (given that 100% = 1)

Yeppers....

0.1% (1/10th of 1%) = 0.001

1% is represented numerically as 0.01
ONE TENTH of 0.01 is represented as 0.001

As the Statist is building a culture of conformity and dependency, where the ideal citizen takes on drone-like qualities in service to the state, the individual must be drained of uniqueness and self-worth and deterred from independent thought or behavior. This is acheived through varying methods of economic punishment and political suppression.

the 100% number "X" is a variable that does not translate the same month to month.

something like having two bags of groceries marked may and june. you can take the one gallon of milk out of each bag and the milk can be represented by a different percentage value depending what was in each bag originally.

I did screw the poochie in the reading of his original figures... my bad.

but his math is still messed up. go to the site they show you how they figure it and where all of the numbers come from.
