Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?
she's not sick of anything. she got a taste of the limelight and loved it, she's a beauty queen for frig's sake.

she'll spend the next couple years boning up on american history and civics, casually making the rounds of conservative media, doling out each new piece of information so all you rushpublicans can slobber about how smart she is.

i'd just like a straight answer from her re: is the earth 6 thousand or 6 billion years old? then we can all talk about how smart or practical she is.
First hi-lited...I am ...sick of marxist opinionating as though it is THE FINAL WORD...how exactly do YOU in all your infinite indoctrinated wisdom even PRETEND to know what someone else is "thinking"?

Second hi-lited ...So, by YOUR ILlogic and all knowing infinite indoctrination beliefs, the age of the earth is the deciding factor on intelligent...now that is intelligent.

OK. so if she's stepping down because she doesn't want to be a lame duck governor, wasting the people of Alaska's money on trade missions, etc.. She was elected to serve as Alaska's Governor for the FULL TERM. She's abdicating the position they gave her before she finishes the job. If your premise is true, (it's something she can't do anything about) then she is giving up. How is that standing on a promise? That looks like NOT keeping a promise to me. Isn't the oath of office a promise?

How is her lieutenant governor any less a lame duck?

I'm not anti Palin, I'm anti-QUIT.

I love that statement

I dunno. This would not appear to be the best possible move for any politician, regardless of what office she might be running for next. It's not necessary to resign from the governorship to run either for the senate in 2010, or for president in 2012. What are her reasons? I'm not sure we have the whole story. Yet.
You can’t except to post some that unspecific and except that a Person to understand wear you are coming from. I would suggest that you express your self as well as you did in your second post on all your posts. This way there will be no confusion.

She's not quitting...

Just moving to a better position to attack from (or an easier position to defend)...it happens sometimes you know...lose the battle but win the war...live to fight another day etc....

She's got a book to write and I would predict that she's going to end up with a radio or tv show in the near future. She's always seemed like a great fit for political media. It may be her true calling. It may give her a better sounding board to set up for a run in 2012 than being governor of Alaska.

Still, I can't see how leaving office early is going to do anything but hurt her politically, and it certainly won't help her. But there are pros and cons to every decision and maybe she will have a net benefit from the move. I don't think that she's going away, I think she's coming to Washington or New York and to the airwaves near you.

It will help her because she will do the Public Speaking circuit. Comment on everything that happens and go on Fox telling how she would do things. There is a chance tho that people will be burned out on her by the time she runs. thats always a risk..over exposer.

Okay, then lets talk about how smart the currenet VP Joe Biden is...shall we? He's just so smart that he once gave a speech and asked Missouri state senator Chuck Graham to stand up...Chuck would had gladly stood up if he could...he's wheel chair bound. Or how about that time his brightness really shined through when he said that President Franklin.D.Roosevelt got on television to talk about the stock market crash? He probably would had if he was president and if there was television back in 1929. Or how about the time he refered to Sarah Palin as Lieutenant Governor? Yeah, lets talk about how smart and practical 'ole Joe is.

The only question that would answer is one of her religious background...

I'll give you my answer to it though...the earth is around 4.5 billion years old (give or take a few million)

Now...Am I smart or practical???? I'd really like to know...

EDIT: and this fact could be proven if they would allow it to be...

99.999% of all politicians are educated well beyond their intelligence and have little or no common sense.

Sarah Palin is just the opposite, she is educated enough and has common sense enough to figure out the rest as she goes...and thats why the Demonrats fear her so much.

I'm hardly defending Joe Biden, he's the most verbose and verbally self indulgent politician in the Senate, but how do any of these silly mistakes made extemporaneously, have anything to do with his ability as a Senator? He has at least the respect of his colleagues in the Senate, because of his record of service to the country, and owing to his intellect, regardless of his tendency to slip in a stupid blunder occasionally when speaking in public. I think the Senators are better qualified to assess that, even if they disagree with him.

Have you read any of his actual writings, or non-campaign speeches? It's too easy to take potshots at small mistakes, blunders, he's had plenty. So have many others. Shall we quote Bushisms, Gore-inanities? Clinton's argument over what IS, IS? Whatever.

Kindly point out how (even if you disagree) he's been stupid, uneducated, or ignorant in leading committees, writing law, or addressing the Senate, if you want to make a strong point. That he's a democrat isn't enough. That you disagree with his politics, isn't enough to make your point effectively.
