More on Cap and Trade. The Obama administration has privately concluded that a cap and trade law would cost American taxpayers up to $200 billion a year, the equivalent of hiking personal income taxes by about 15 percent. A previously unreleased analysis prepared by the U.S. Department of Treasury says the total in new taxes would be between $100 billion to $200 billion a year. At the upper end of the administration's estimate, the cost per American household would be an extra $1,761 a year. A second memorandum, which was prepared for Obama's transition team after the November election, says this about climate change policies: "Economic costs will likely be on the order of 1 percent of GDP, making them equal in scale to all existing environmental regulation." If this is passed people who are in homes will not be able to afford the utility bills which in turn will mean more home foreclosures. I guess the housing industry will never get out of it slump. Can't they just meet and discuss things that doesn't tax us? Egads there must be some humanity things they could be doing. Oh wait....Obama likes to spend not his money and NOT TAXING ANYONE. I don't.....nevermind it's a waste of good letters.

The most frightening thing in cap and trade is the provision that all homes sold will have to meet California energy standards. How can someone that is short on money spend $50,000 to bring up their house to standards before selling it when they can hardly make payments on it.

Well thank god that I am already IN MINE for life that way I will never be selling the SOB. Obama and Waxman should try living in Alaska for six months in WINTER with the only being allowed to burn Energy Efficant Solar for heat.
