You couldn't bait anyone in that thread so you thought you start a new one. You're fully capable of Googling, give it a try.

| It was originally to remove the Taliban from power, for refusing to either kick Bin laden out or had him over to the US after the 9/11 attacks.. As far as I know that is still the reason. But it looks more like their trying to keep the Taliban from taking the country back over.. Personally I do not see either happening, look what happened to the Russians during their 10yr war with them..

| Well whether it was rex or his girlfriend, I think it is a very good question. And why not ask? We can all google and get many different answers from many diffferent perspectives from many people we don't know....But why not ask it here? Should someone be ashamed to say, Hey I really don't have the answers.... As much as there is arguing and political views being questioned and backed up with much historical fact, from people that whether we have ever met before or ever will, have become friends, and even if we never see eye to eye, people try their best to post their opinions backed with fact, hopefully with the goal being that we all learn something we didn't know, or see a perspective we couldn't see... |

There is absolutely no reason not to ask and no one should be ashamed to say "Hey I really don't have the answers". However.....baiting is something to be ashamed of. |

He thinks we should just let them be, and not be concerned with the actions of terrorists around the world. A very pre-9/11 mindset.

| we went to Afghanistan to fight the Taliban and Al Queda. the Taliban for the most part has fallen apart and Al Queda is hiding in the border region with Pakistan. being tribal areas and hard to police means they can sneak about easily and cross the border with no resistance. our commanders have requested more troops in order to help resolve this issue and to try and get Pakistan more involved. though actually Al Queda has helped get the Pakistanis more involved by attacking people there. |

| Mooniac you know to a Liberal that Foxnews is about as useful as Kryptonite is to SUPERMAN. They hate it because it does not feed them BUILLCRAP like the rest of their favored news sources like the Daily Kos.
