Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

Our children were eligible for the subsidized breakfast/lunch program during most of their elementary school years. I hadn't signed up. While we didn't have much money, I could certainly feed my own children.

One year the principal talked to me -- advised me that state funding for remedial reading was based on the number of children on subsidized luncheons. Hence, he was requesting that, being eligible, I sign up to increase the funds available to our school for Title I reading remediation. I did so.

I volunteered a lot in the school, and shortly after I signed up I overheard a teacher-to-teacher discussion regarding a child's misbehavior. The student's teacher responded... essentially excusing the child's behavior... by saying that he was "one of [her] 'lunches'."

I was not happy... so I went into the principal, explained what I had just overheard, and said that I didn't think that expectations for children on the subsidized lunch program should be any lower than those of the rest of the school population. Plus, calling the child a "lunch" seemed offensive to me... so I withdrew my children from the program. Heck, my home breakfast and packed lunches were probably nutritionally superior to that which the school offered anyway.

I didn't need it, and should have not allowed myself to be led into it. The free lunches affected more than just a child's hunger. It also lowered the expectations of the child/ren receiving it.

I, me, I , me , I gotta pay taxes for kids lunch etc. What would Jesus do? Think he'd be whining about feeding children ? Ah, he was probably a liberal.
Now Pilate. There was a conservative you guys would love. He worried about himself and no one else.

The "lack of reading comprehension" is amazing.
"What would Jesus do" is asanine. Opinion on a "political" stance of or by Jesus is pure unadulturated "speculation".

But the belief in "human" control of one over another is documented in this forum by a few who refuse to "comprehend" that "coercion is NOT charity".
BTW, "charity begins at home". "Home" being metaphorical for "me". And another FYI, it is NOT the place of someone else to feed another through a "subsidized by yet another" program designed specifically to "empower" one over another. To insist on the "deferring of personal responsibility" creates nothing but imminent failure.

Refusal to acknowledge "respect" is inexcusable in an alleged adult. "Respect of the individual" is NOT selfish as some would have others believe. To assert that "one" is selfish based on a "political" afilliation PERCEPTION is a display of ignorance and evidence of a severe "inferiority complex". The "need" to blame in this Country is the result of "forced/coerced" opinion of fair and/or charitable.

It is well documented that conservatives give more to real charities than socialists. Government programs are about coertion. Taking my money at gun point,70 to 80 percent of which is sucked up by the beaurocraps that administer the program. Full employment of stupid, arrogant, and lazy people is what it's about. More unionized goobernment "workers" getting a chunk of my paycheck.

Put it this way.....
I pay my taxes....
I pay my bills...
I cannot afford the cars and the other toys that people have...I have a business to run.....and in case you have been living under a rock the past year or so....it is getting harder to even break even....

Meanwhile......those who have the H3, the Mercedes, the Beemers, the Lexas.......are taking all of the freebies.......and if you still have not poked your head out the rock....."those" are the class of people who were lifted up into the middle-class not by their education...not by their merit...

But by government mandated "Let us level the playing field" programs.....

Any of you who live in SO-CAL know what I am talking about......

Btw.........It is about "I" and "Me" because "I" have donated more of my time and money to my kids school programs than "those" who have the nicer cars with the dubs.........They're still in bed Saturday morning while people like "me" are helping out at the school fairs, the Field shows ect.......

The libs in country have created a whole class of people who were told in the 60s that they were being discriminated against......that was over 40 years ago.....their children are still "Victims" and still have their hands out......
