Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

Smiley 5 Nanny State: Principals Are Responsible For Students' Breakfasts...

Ridicules, socialistic, and duncical........Johnny can't read or write; Johnny can't spell or add 2+2...but by Obama (Obama is "God" according to the libs), Johnny will get fat courtesy of the taxpayers....
Quote:
Breakfast at school now is on the principal

In a locally unprecedented move, the School District of Philadelphia will hold principals accountable for the number of students eating breakfast in their schools.
Breakfast participation will be part of the report card that rates principals each year, along with categories such as attendance and math and reading performance.
All 165,000 students in Philadelphia public schools, regardless of income, are eligible for free breakfasts. But just 54,000 ate breakfast last year, district figures show.
The new system, which begins this year, is expected to increase the number of students eating breakfast, said Jonathan Stein, a lawyer with Community Legal Services, whose efforts - along with those of Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY) - helped bring about the move. (...)

Remember that most kids are not really wanted, they are just a by-product of having sex with out protection.

People that want their kids take care of them come hell or high water, they don't need the system to help them. How can you send your kids off to school hungry?

We have this program in California.....
Sure, kids should not go to school hungry....but there is rampant abuse of the system.....

They also receive breakfast and lunch on the weekends as well....I'm paying for it along with the rest of the taxpayers.....

Yet small business operators such as myself will not receive any help to become CARB compliant...and I have more to offer the state than some illegal alien family.....

This program was at my kids' schools. There were times when my kids HAD to use it, and I was grateful for it.
I cooked for my children every morning...however, there WERE days that the alarm didn't go off, I over-slept, or they were otherwise dragging their feet, and didn't have time to eat at home.
Those days, if it weren't for the program, my kids would have been awfully hungry until lunch time.

It cost only a dollar, and I would send that dollar with them the next day, to pay for the previous mornings breakfast.

Notice who's behind this? A stinking lawyer with some putrid community organizing rabble rouser group. Get a rope.

You paid for the breakfast....
In our districts here.....it's "Free"...which means the taxpayers are footing the full bill.....There are plenty of people abusing it.....

They live in the same type of house I live in and although we're not in the "High Rent District", still........These are the same people who own H3's and or the CTS with the Dubs......but their kids get free meals.....

We qualified for the "free" meals....I paid anyway. Yes, there were a few times that I had to avail myself of the odd free breakfast/lunch...but most of the time, I paid that dollar.

I understand the frustration you, and others, feel. But not ALL families who must use this program, ABUSE it...a lot of folks are like I was...mostly, paid our way, but the odd times that it was needed, we were glad the program was there..for the children.

so.. only 54000 kids ate breakfast last year.. we're now assuming the other 111000 went hungry till lunch?

hate to tell you.. i would eat breakfast at school in high school. wasn't that great but some mornings i was hungry. yes i paid for it. i was given 15 or 20 bucks for the week. when it was gone it was gone. breakfast was never a very popular thing though. i'd say MAYBE 60 people or so would eat breakfast vs nearly everyone eating lunch.
