History is a chain of events...

Without Eli Whitney....the Industrial Revolution may or may not have started in the 1800's..... the industrial revolution was well underway prior to eli inventing a better pump.

Without Thomas Edison.....streets may have stayed dark much longer..... streets were well lit prior to edison.

Without Lincoln there may have not been a Civil war...but slavery might have lasted another 20 years or more in the US..... so was lincoln a good or bad thing in your mind?

Without Dr. Salk...many more may have died or suffered from polio...... without flemming dr salk migh have been burned as a heretic

Without Nazi V2 rocket technology there may not have been Apollo 11..... I thought you thought that came from a sound stage...???

History has its players and its makers.....

Columbus was a significant part of history....like him or not.....

kahn and hitler were significant also... but no holiday there...

Again.....history is an interlocking chain of events....
Had Columbus not taken the risks.....Neil Armstrong might not have set foot on the Moon......

And quite possibly we would still be communicating by messenger on horseback or carrier pigeons....

Also if Neil Armstrong didn't set foot on the moon, then what? Probably no inventions anyway cause only Americans invent remember? No Edison either. Tesla would have had to stay in Europe and went into farming or something, instead of coming to America and outdo Edison.
