How does man responsible for helping to bring the world into the 20th century with 1,093 patents be an idiot? AC voltage was more economical true...but DC is safer....and look where the future is....Wind turbines and Solar panels....Both produce DC power which on a large scale power production must be inverted to AC. Modern homes can be designed to run DC appliances versus AC appliances...RV's have had AC/DC appliance for years... If I had the cash to build a custom home in the sticks...I would use a combination of solar and wind power generation in conjunction with DC appliances...
