Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

You do realize that natural seepage of crude oil equals 62 million gallons of crude, which is equal to six Exxon Valdez's a year?

Or that more oil spills into our water from pleasure boats than from the oil industry?

Quote:
Since 1975, drilling in the Exclusive Economic Zone (within 200 miles of the U.S. coast) has had a 99.999% safety record, according to the Energy Information Administration, which reports that "only .001 percent of the oil produced has been spilled."
Quote:
The vast majority of the oil that finds its way into the sea comes from dry land, NASA found. Runoff from cities, roads, industrial sites and garages deposits 363 million gallons into the sea, making runoff by far the single largest source of oil pollution in the oceans

Yes I think oil companies will let that $$$$$$ sit there.

More supply at this time will only lower their profits.

What the oil companies want is 30, 40, 50 year contracts that guarantee their right to drill. If they get those guarantees from the government, they won't drill, they will sit on those guarantees so that no wildcatters can drill in the future.

So you hauled pipe to a drilling rig and that makes you an expert on the world oil trade?

Nope.....

I worked in refineries, transfer stations....

I chased leaks on crude and product lines..... I worked at the Hydrogen production plants.......
I also worked on pipeline emergencies and damages as well......

Oil production is much more than just drilling my friend....and btw.....It creates jobs at all ends of the spectrum...

Without oil...the world as we know it stops....and then we'll be living in caves....eating cold sheyat and coconuts......

Oil is not the enemy........

Sarah is a bonehead.

If you want cheap oil, invade the middle east and take the oil wells, not the poppy fields of Afghanistan.
Did you know that Shell has discovered over one trillion barrels of recoverable oil shale in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming? And they have the technology to extract it with near zero environmental(if any) impact? Yet they are still being blocked by Obama and congress. By the way when was the Exxon Valdez disaster? I think we've progressed quite a bit since then. I suppose next you'll tell me how wonderful that cap and trade bill is? You know the one that will raise electricity and heating bills by at least 60 percent and raise gas and diesel prices by at least 75 cents a gallon? Oh but the environment... yep never mind the cost to our economy. Just as long as those little fishes in CA have a nice home right?

I think George Carlin hit the nail on the head:

"Save the planet? Hell we can't even take care of ourselves and somehow we think we're gonna save the f###### planet?"

What wildcatters? You're talking about not allowing drilling in areas that no drilling is allowed in because an oil company might get a contract from the government and not drill in the areas that are not being drilled in? Do you even read what you write?
