I don't bash the USA. The USA does what the USA does period. Saying that I think there has been mistakes made in hindsight is not bashing.
I do not support Canada's mission in Afghanistan and I don't hide behind "it's a NATO action. I believe the mission was getting rid of the regime that let OBL set up in the country and that was accomplished very quickly. This new mission to bring our ideas of human rights etc. to the country is just a fools mission. We have told NATO after 2012 we are out of there and we will be. Canadians will not support it and the government knows that it will be out of power if we stay there longer than that.

Time has proven there wasn't a damn thing worth fighting over in 'Nam. Just like time with prove the same in Afghanistan. But hey some guys are making a killing selling bullets and bombs.

We have not gotten rid of it, that's the whole problem. They ran to the hills and have been growing in strength for years now. They were the ones that took over a large part of Pakistan and had to be driven back by the Pakistani military (when they finally showed up.)

They are still launching attacks on us. Big enough attacks to drive us completely out of regions, abandoning bases. Our military, and by extension, yours as well, are crippled by the idiots in DC. The moment we pull out of there, that regime will take over again, easily. Then we are easy targets again. That means both the US and Canada. And don't think for a second they will forget that you guys were over there.

If our security is too tight, they'll breach yours. We have to finish the job or it will come back to fighting in our own neighborhoods. There is no reasoning with these people.
