Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

And THAT (in a nut-shell) is what they are hoping for, that people like you and me, as well as people who CAN afford their Health Insurance will throw in the towel and take "their" policy.

The last time I had a claim, I broke my arm. Not covered by the insurance policy because of the deductible. This was in January 2006.

I hope it does pass. I will have no problem with a tax that will be offset by the loss of the total cost of my healthcare and the insurance. I think it will result in a little tax increase.

Not a liberal thought pattern, but a practical look at the problem.
You said that between getting the truck fixed and having insurance, the insurance would go? What are you going to do when you don't have that option anymore? Lose the job, but at least you'll have insurance.

Do you have an inside on what the cost is going to be should they pass this health care bill? I seriously doubt it will be as cheap as you think. As an example how often does medicare go up? How often do covered procedures get bumped because the cost is too much? Does it bother you that they will take billions away from medicare to subsidize this health care plan? I mean they said it wouldn't cost anything but they lied, it's going to cost those on medicare. But, oh well, they aren't productive members of society anyway, right? Sieg Heil.

This with that little clause in the HC bill that states that everyone who is eligible for medicare will be enrolled in it. So that's taking money out of medicare while adding even more people to it. How does that work?

None of it is going to work. They have no idea what kind of a Pandora's Box they will be opening. I kind of fear for my parents who are on medicare.

Why pay for something that covers nothing?

You have your concerns, I have mine.

I have worked for companies and they require the driver to pay for the poor insurance they offer.
So what is the difference?

I seriously doubt it will be as bad as you think.

Guess you missed the part about being thrown in jail when you're caught without health insurance. Good luck paying for it weather you want to or not. You don't have a choice anymore.

This was exactly the point I was trying to convey. Thank you. Oh, and don't forget that little zinger from the IRS to the tune of $25,000 in a penalty if you can't pay the fine, this will all happen before you go to jail.

Oh that's a good plan. Give me a nice head start to get across the border before trying to throw me in jail. I'll take it, suckers.

Not really.

I believe this is something that will not be in the final bill.

There is no way this can happen, forcing people to buy from the greedy vultures who are the insurance industry without providing a way to compete against the greed.

As usual, people have their own beliefs.

You better inform the #2 Dem in the House that it won't be in there.
