How about that $10 tongue depressor wouldn't cost $10 if they didn't have to recoup their losses from non-paying customers, the malpractice insurance a doctor pays to be able to practice medicine? Those who abuse the system are the ones who are making health care unaffordable for some. If the government really did care, they would stop the fraud that's rampant in health care, medicare, medicaid and SS. Why don't they? Inquiring minds would love to know. No, they think that if they ignore this beast it will suddenly go away on its own. All they are doing is feeding the fire that's already started.....forget trying to put the fire out first.

Profit control by the government? The last thing we need is more government interference. This is such a slippery slope.
