As shown in the charts below, the U.S. has 1,321 billion barrels of oil (or barrels of oil equivalent for other sources of energy) when combining its recoverable natural gas, oil and coal reserves.
While Russia is a close second with 1,248 billion barrels, other energy producing nations are far behind. No. 3 is Saudi Arabia (543 billion barrels), followed by China (494 billion barrels), Iran (426 billion barrels) and Canada (221 billion barrels.)

Your figures compare our country's known and estiated total reserves of ALL hydrocarbon resource with other country's Proven oil aand natural gas reserves alone.
I'm not sure why you would post something so blatantly misleading, unless of course you never even read it beyond the table of contents.

Let's go over this one more time...
There is no such thing as "our own oil"
Remember; as we have learned from previous discussions about this, crude oil belongs to whomever has invested the time, trouble, and money to extract it from the earth. After payment of what are called "royalties" to either the government or private landowner the oil is bought, sold, and traded on the WORLD MARKET just like PRIVATE property because that's exactly what it is.

It is no more "our oil" than it is the man on the moon's oil.

Just curious though- why do you find importing oil from Canada and Mexico to be so abhorent?

G2F comment was not about "OUR" oil, his comment was about the rabid stupidity of of LIBS, such as Joe "Gaff Again" Biden who SAID "drilling OUR OWN OIL" would make us more dependent on FOREIGN OIL.
