:biggrin_25513: I am an old Monfort hand and just recently decided to refurbish a tractor/ trailer for the truck shows. Low and behold I decided to do an ol Monfort rig. Problem is that the original trailers are burried under the feedlot in Greeley and haven't seen a tractor in years.:biggrin_25512:
Any help or suggestions would greatly be appreciated as I want to bring back one of the great legends of the road again. It sure would bring back alot of memories to the older hands out there.
Hammer Down, Move over and get out of the MONFORT LANE!!!!!!!!!!:biggrin_2551:

there's a lot of old Monfort trailers floating around, Navajo still has some, but if you want the real oldies, you need to check the farms and businesses in small town, a lot of them are storage units now.

    Roadkill:

Were you still there around 80? I think it was 1980 when I was there. Got to love the old dispatch building is now an XXX porn store. Seems fitting.

    Curtis?
Na.....I went to work for a high-school chum in February, I think and by June I was out of trucking (for awhile) and moved to Michigan (where I still live).
You aren't talking about the building that sets in the middle of the Sapp Bros in Commerce City, are you?
Other than that, I believe the old Curtis lot is where the UPS terminal is now, or as close as I can place it.

The building in the middle was where the truck pushes (Roy and Keith ?) had their offices. They used to check the logs and do the driver testing. The dispatch building was to the south on that side street. Where Sapps shop is was the Curtis truck shop and the restuarant was office staff. The trailer shop was a few blocks south. Curtis was owned by Stan Leverage. They had 4 cold and deep freeze plants in that area. The hotel to the west of Sapps was also owned by Leverage. East-West LTL used to be stored in these plants and interlined, for a fee of course. By the time the fees were paid Curtis made more off the loads than the O/Os did. Curtis also had a cold storage plant in SLC and several in California. I was there for 8 months.
