One of the guys I'm going to cdl school with has a friend that works for Knight. He's been bragging that his friend claims he makes between $900-$1300 per week. So this week he tells me his friend is now going lease with Knight when he comes off his home time. Either somebody is full of ****, or this guy's friend is a complete idiot. Trust me, Central Florida is a very affordable place to live. $50k+ a year is good money around here.

that can be attained on the reefer side, why lease when fuel prices are skyrocketing and if your making that kind of dough..???? why not buy a truck outright and get exactly what you want. Lakeland terminal is just a drop yard basically with a very small office, and is very dusty but i like goin there because my in-laws live 6 miles from there.

Thanks Vetteman. That was my thought also. Why would a company driver making $50K+ wanna take the risk of a lease? That's the part I question.

I make very good money with KR and I wouldn't lease at gunpoint.

My buddy Jason has worked for the Phoenix terminal twice, left on good terms both times to pursue other interests, and gets a live call from Knight once a week, and 2-3 robo calls a week. Sheesh.

I encouraged him to use the scenario to his advantage - he wants to work local/regional, he also wants to part-time - he should ask them to let him work 2 weeks a month and pay him for 4.

Knight can't afford to rehire me!
I wouldn't subject my worst enemy to their abusive and callous practices!!!

Nope! Dan C. was my terminal manager and my dickspatcher was Rob. I had one of those GREY 2010 377 Peterbilts.

I was quite pleased with them for about 3-4 months but it didn't take long for the company's true colors started to show. After that it was nothing but grief to get anything from them.
They didn't have freight when I was ready to work, they couldn't get me home when I asked (once a month for 3-4 days, BTW). They were extremely reluctant to repair the truck or trailers. They routinely had to be prodded to pay for any extra work.
    Shall I continue???

By the way, when Jason was working for them, he averaged 1600 miles a week.
