Well I will come to JBs defense on this one because I dont think it is what the JB guy said. I think he said they are sure of getting a dedicated job if they go through orientation. Maybe I didnt understand him though. We all know those applying for otr arent sure of getting a job at all if they go to orientation. Only about 20% of the applicants get hired. But Roehl did the same when I visited them so I guess most bigger companies do this type of thing.

Actually, a 'Hunt' in German is a tram - transport - used in mining. 'Hund' is dog, though it is pronounced "hoont".

you know it doesnt matter what company you go too, you are going to have trouble and problems with them all! they all have their good points and bad points, no matter what you do! like someone on here said before you gotta find what suites you and stick with it. the good, the bad and the ugly:biggrin_2556:.i feel all truckers are after the same thing,
1.) good home time with family and friends
2.) a good paycheck to live on
3.) and the respect that we all deserve.

these dispatchers (fleet managers) are mostly home everyday and off on the weekends while us ( the american trucker) are out their hauling friehgt to keep america going, away from everything and a good home cooked meal and a nice bed. but thats the life of a trucker.

I would like to know what company pays you on the weekend if freight is slow, I work for Crete and they don't although the longest I have had to wait is 1.5 days to get loaded.

let me give you a perfect example of jb hunt. i picked a load up in montgomery,al on thursday morning (9:00 am) and the load didnt deliver until monday in kansas city,mo until monday at noon. i was sitting in kansas city,mo on friday the following day with like 5 hrs left to run, instead of letting me drop the load at the yard in kansas city or any other location i sat on it until monday until noon and delivered the load. on friday i was setting on 1200 miles for the week when i go to kc,mo i sat the rest of friday and all day saturday and sunday and didnt deliver until monday which i just had a 34 hr restart on the monday and tuesday b-4. it is like this all the time with jb and anyone who drives for them or has drove for them knows what i am talking about.

You could always have a backing problem, cause some serious damage. Sure, he'll fire you, but he's going to be eating insurance payments for years.
