Cb radio in dodge dakota

I did start the truck without the ant connected and there is no noise at all.
I only get noise with coax connected to radio. I get more noise with coax connected and truck running...so my noise is being picked up by my coax. The Ant is a Wilson Magnet Ant with coax. You probably know which one I am talking about.

So, I am assumming that the filter only filters noise from the power lead? yes?

Oh, btw,,my stryker does have a in line fuse that is came with.

 

Ok,,I have played with my setup some more and this is what it is...
The extra noise is coming through the Ant. It only picks up extra noise when truck is running. I believe the noise may be the alt. When the truck is running a crackling noise comes throught the speaker. It isn't loud but it is annoying..LOL It only elevates for a 2nd when I rev the motor. If I rev the motor to higher rpm's and hold it there, the noise gets louder only for a 2nd and than back to the normal. Once I turn the truck off, the crackeling noise goes away.

I have mine connected to both posts on the battery.... I am sure my problem is the coax, which is too thin. I thought it being a Wilson that I would not have to worry about it but, I guess I was wrong. Not sure if there is a better mag mount ant. out there. I do not want to make holes at this point but, might have to later..
