I have driven for Falcon transportation, a one truck owner operator, Churchill from Detroit, Lowe's, Peck food service, Paris healthcare, Schneider, Barr Nunn, Knight, Panera bread and Genesse brewery

I could go back even further if you like, but that was BEFORE the CDL came out. (Anyone else remember the old "chauffeur's" endorsement? )

    Any more questions?

I'll let you in on a secret.

Not all KR trucks are Grey
Not all Knight trucks are Red
and not all Knight trucks are Grey OR Red!

I know one that even though the tractor was red and the trailer was white (with red lettering)....the trailer doors really reflected the red and blue from the CHP black and white on the side of the road.....did I mention it was on the Grapevine, North bound I-5....not long past the 35 mph speed limit sign.....the red truck with the white (with red lettering) trailer went by me doing in the neighborhood of 55-60!

Wonder if it was going to be worth that ticket? One student I had got himself a ticket on the "Vine"....40 in the 35 zone...cost him $535.00...just what will a ticket doing better than 20 over the limit cost....besides his job that is??!!

Knight Refridgrated is getting bigger so they're trying to get more drivers.. Our Lakeland yard is getting more drivers for KR, but we don't have the trucks yet, so a number of drivers are in the red ones and not the grey ones.. to really tell if it's a Lakeland truck just look at the number.. if it's 552*** then it's based out of Lakeland..

And most opinions about Knight are really based on the Terminal the driver runs out of.. Each Term runs like it's own seperate Corp. and our Van and Refer Drivers are seperate. Refer will run east to west coast all month long.. they try to keep the van drivers east of the Mississippi. We have O/O's running out of Lakeland doing fine.. Met a guy in Dallas from the Houston Term, and he said he was hurting something serious.

At our term they say (donno if it's true) that if the truck is parked for more then 3days they clean it out for you and it goes slip seat.. I kinda believe it cause we have a heap of part timers running out of Lakeland.. they work for only a week or two and are off for months. They're usually the one's that pull the loads off the yard and deliver in Florida locally. The yard really only has trucks on it towards the weekend and is packed on holidays.. but there's always an orientation class starting every week. I know we have one trainer running out of Lakeland, met him once, didn't care much for him.
