Hello, I am Myyshorty. I currently have a class B license and my class A temps. I have contacted several schools and have been told pretty much the same thing. My temps are not going to be accepted and they want me to take the endorsement tests over as wel. I can understand the temps, but why not the endorsements? All I want to do is DRIVE! My kids are all grown and now it is me time! This has been a lifelong dream for me and I just can't seem to get it together. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

PS I went to CR England against my better judgement and boy was that a mistake and a waste of time!

I have been thinking about these three companies. The first 2 have the training schols and Werner has an internship program that will reimburse up to $6,000. Any advice?:biggrin_25519:

Con-Way trains you to get your CDL through their driver apprentice program. You get your CDL, a decent-paying job (if they have enough work for you to do) where you get to be home every night, but you will work your butt off doing some driving, but mostly dock work. If you quit before the year is up you owe them $3000 for the tuition. They might work you 14-hour days (or nights). I haven't done it myself, but you can check out the Con-Way threads.

avoid Werner at all costs. Read all of the horror stories on here about them. Not sure about CRE. I'd go with Con-Way

If your going to a school out of state they really can't accept these temps. I had a Class B last year when I went to C1 in Indianapolis. I had air brakes, passenger and tank vehicles endorsements on mine. I had to surrender my Ga Class B for a temp Indiana Class B but that new license had all my endorsements on it. Then when I finished and got my Class A all these endorsements were added to it. I never had to retake any tests. I did not even have to retake the air brakes test.

Thanks for all of the input! Now what has anyone heard of Roehl. They contacted me and I usually get all of my insight on here!:biggrin_25514:

I went through their school, and am very happy I did. Great school and a decent company to work for.

all your endorsements should transfer, but when you take your class a test you better know the air brake bleed down rate for a tractor trailer
