Whats a good brand to get?
Its been suggested I get a 300w inverter to use for my CPAP.
Whats a good brand to get? Or is a higher wattage inverter allowed?
So i could run other things as well when the finances allow my to get some 12v stuff. -
They only allow invertors that can plug into the cig lighter. They have exceptions if you need it for cpap amd will install one for you. I dont know the details.
I have a 2500/5000 watt in my truck. I can run anything. Lol. Im actually using it to power all my tools for the house.im building. -
I have a cpap machine and it came with a inverter that plugs into the cig lighter like company man said

are there any brands to stay away from?
Nakmuay, yeah I saw on the Philips(maker of my machine) website , they sell a 12v adapter to use for the machine. Not sure I want to go that route. I use a humidifier tank too. Heard inpassing that the 12v adpters dont tun the humidifier heater? Not sure how true that is , but I do plan on getting a cooler or something to that effect that runs on 12v.
Need the inverter anyway to charge the laptop. -
Take advantage of the cpap exception to get the largest invertor they will let you. You can use.it for.lots of things. Coffee pot, small microwave etc.
I like the cobra as it seems to run things cooler then some of the cheap ones like victor etc. Ive had problems with cobra brand.burning out the cooling fans though. Ibambgoing to buyba smaller 1500w pretty soon since i dont live in my truck for months at a time anymore. Im going to try the brand loves sells. I forget the brand, its yellow. My buddy has had.one for two years.and has.had.no problems. These things do tend to burn out.
With my 2500 watt i ran a fairly large microwave, dorm fridge, crock pot, electric skillit and hot plate. Plus all my laptop, phone and tablet chargers. Oh ya, mybflat screen and dvd player too. And almost all of them together as long as the fridge didnt try to start upmickeyrat Thanks this. -
Btw i tookvmy big invertor out last week to hook up to my suburban while i was building. Right now i have an 800 watt cobra.not pluged into a cig lighter but wired.to the wires for the.cig lighter (the plugs get too hot) it runs my 21" tv and dvd together. It will also run my tv and myblaptop together but barely if i have the laptop set to high performance.
