Hey guys I'm looking at buying a truck in the next 6 months or so and i'm debating over these two trucks a t660 or a w9
they would both be spec'd the same isx 550 18sp 3.58 or 3.70 rears not sure on that yet still trying to decide since i only run 60mph
i'm curious on what kinda fuel economy i can expect from either truck i run the eastern seaboard 90% of the time canada and the us
loaded anywhere from 20k up to 45k in the box so im curious what you guys are averaging with these truck what your setup is
where you haul how heavy thanks guys.

I dont want this to turn into an areo VS hood debate i know the pros an cons of both

I drive a 2013 T-660 with the 450hp ISX Cummins with a 9 speed. Not sure on the rear gears, but I am averaging bout 6.8 mpgs

Since both trucks are the exact same from the cab back, and you are going to spec them the exact same, it would just be a preference of looks. Both have the exact same cab and sleepers. If you are going to run the eastern seaboard and Canada I would go for the T660 since it has a better turning radius for the tight docks out there, and the shorter wheelbase for the Canadian's. Also, the T660 should net you better MPG overall. If i were to buy a brand new truck, it would be a T660 or a Pete 386

I was crawling in three 386's today.

I hit my head going into the sleeper and coming out on all three.

Never had that issue going into a T660.

you're probably going to have to rethink if you're buying new.
660 is being discontinued. The 680 is the replacement and it's a hybrid between the old 660 and the 700.
As for fuel mileage? the 660 will do better due to the aero dynamics.
Generally, you buy the W-9 for the looks...because you want the hood.
The 660 is much quieter inside than the W-9...just personal experience there.

Ya i'm not gonna lie getting a w900 would be cause of the looks iv always wanted another hood after driving a 379 long nose for a year and its been a bit of a dream to own one. iv only ever sat in them never taken one for a drive. The T660 is quieter? how's that possible like SHC said cabs from the hood back are the exact same so you would think they would be the exact same. Last i heard KW was gonna keep making the t660 for quite awhile yet. The wheel base issue with canada which ever one i end up getting it's gonna be 240 -248 i really want more stretch to help with the ride my last 2 trucks have been 232 and i hate the ride going through quebec is a nightmare i would have to say the worse roads i drive on. On the fuel economy if i could average 6.3- 6.5 with the w900 that would seal the deal for me, then start doing "mods" down the road to bring it up even more. :smt077 Thats why i was curious what you guys are getting

I'm currently in a 386 i can't say i'v hit my head getgin in or outta the bunk. but i will say for a aerodynamic truck it sure gets blown around alot in the wind and also anybody that hates wind noise don't get the roof flaring put on the 2 inch gap between the roof and flaring creates a crazy amount of wind noise from 15mph up to about 45mpg then it kinda goes away unless it windy then you get to listen to all day it gets annoying after awhile

Probably because i am curently in a 09 casadia mid-roof and you can simply stand up next to the drivers seat.

Only thing i like about hood trucks is ease of access to the engine.

Its just something you get used to i guess, as i turn to stand up and head for the bunk my head and body are at about a 45 degree angle point to the ceiling of the bunk as my first foot hits the floor im' standing up fully taking a big stretch

Nobody else running KW's the the scr engine?

Road warrior bought a new w900l. I asked him about the MPG and I'm 99% sure he told me he was getting mid to high 6's. He has a 2011 or 2012, I believe he also has the cummins not the paccar engine
