I have a model RTLO16610BT2 super 10 speed. My problem: Truck sat for two years and I bought it. Driving down the road there was times it would shift just fine and other times where it would shift fine until I went into the 7th and 9th hole. The low side of 7th and 9th will not engage and when I split up for 8th and 10th it never engages. The shifter will go into the holes just fine but it acts like air isn't allowing the split over for the high gears. When I move the gear shift while in nuetral I never hear the ching ching noise like its trying to switch the gears. I have replaced the shift tower, the air conversion box on top of the tranny. Still same problem. My splitter box is located inside the back of the tranny. I am now being told the torrington bearing is probably broke and the gear is floating around inside the tranny. I am just wondering if anyone knows anything about this problem. Whats a figure I could look to spend to rebuild this tranny. Would a 13 spd tranny bolt up in place of a super 10? I have a 425 Cat with a eaton fuller super 10. Thanks for the help......

Yes a 13 will go up but you have to shorten the drive shaft. You may have to lengthen the air lines too. You'll need more air line for the splitter and a new handle. It's a hassle. Just go straight 10 if the ratios work. Watch your mounts too. Might be different.

Another problem: No one is going to want to swap your core. ( 10 for 13 ) ( without xtra cash )

Also head on over to the Fuller web site and check your ratios. I had found a sweet deal on a recon Rockwell till I check the ratios, 1800 rpm would have got me 55 mph so I ended up putting in the same thing.

And i did flywheel to carrier bearing, $2850 in parts plus labor. $3600 all done. ( Houston, Tx. March this year )

if you swap the super 10 for a 13 the drive shaft is the same no need to cut or lenthen make sure you get the shifter tower with the 13 the super 10 tower wont work its a very easy swap did mine in a days time in the driveway

Learn something new everyday...so a super 10 is the same length as a 13 ? No one told me that when I was looking....it was all doom and gloom.

Sorry Volvo, I was going on what the experts told me when I was on the same path.

    Good luck.....
