So I typically drive dump trucks for the state, however, my dad has been driving tractor trailers for years. Now he is driving a '04 Kenworth T2000 that has been worn out. The temperatures are dropping and it would be nice to get some heat to blow out of the panels. The blower works and blows heat, for now anyway. He said that it mainly blows out of the defrost vents. When he hits a big enough bump the heat will blow on heat through the floor, but the next bump will send it through the defrost vent. I tried looking into it more, but I couldn't even get to where I could see the flappers. Any ideas of what to try? Thanks!

It should have a air soliniod in right side of glovebox inside of the glovebox. This control moves the flaps.

And if the solenoid is working, you may have a broken door or a plate that is off its hinges, making the air go someplace other than where it is supposed to.

there is also an electric accuator on top of a/c-heaterbox on the outside of cab it's right on top under a plastic cover. they are prone to moisture and will act up when this happens(one minute it will blow defrost the next it will be on the floor). on the T2000's.

Okay, I will check it out as well. One other thing I was wondering. How do you get to the flappers to make sure they are on their hinges and working properly. Do you go through the dash or can you get to it from under the hood. I didn't want to pop off any trim or anything unless I was for sure I could get to it. Thanks!
