hauling onions

    I was a Pup. Hauled a load of onions in a brand new Great Dane reefer. I was trainee. Trainer would not turn on the reefer. They had to destroy the box, no one would load it. 113 degrees makes onions nasty. Steam cleaning, bleach, made no difference. Trainer lost his job. :biggrin_2559:

    I'll have to start treating my tarps with coffee before rolling them up, they smell for weeks.

    I saw a flat with onions on the other day. It didn't look so tough. If it's a regular gig, I would buy pick up truck bed netting and put one on the front and another on the rear.

    post up in eloy and watch at least 25 a day on the 10 between phx and tucson headed east and north......some tarped better than others.

    id bet there is even more coming out of yuma.

    Saw a guy between LA and San Diego driving an old schoolbus stacked full of onions. I assume he was the farmer, guess he didn't want to shell out $1.50/mile to some greedy trucker :)
