It has totally changed now. 0-200mi is .45cpm, 20-500 is .38, base pay is .28-.29cpm. They keep buggin me to come back, but I need at least .35cpm to put up with that flatbed stupidity. Cant run van out of my area.

Hello, I drive for Western Express and in just gonna throw this out there but, Work for anyone but them! You won't make any Money and you might as well go to Mcdonalds and be home every night and eat free! I'm an experienced driver and I don't care who wants to argue over the fact that western express is a train wreck on the brink of bankruptcy. Just giving a fellow driver some good advice. Go to the truck stops and talk to other drivers and you'll find the better companies. Good luck!!! (Run from Western Express)

    Bigdaddy00 Thanks this.

Also they're backstabbers! Did you know already this year they turned in 35 drivers in to Dot for violations instead of going to the drivers and have them fix the problems they go straight to the top and try to get you're license revoked. You see ever since their CSA score went south they hired an ex-DOT officer to straighten things out and so far it has worked, just goes to show you what money will do because they are no safer. They are turning in their own drivers, backstabbing at its finest. This company is full of crooks and scam artists. They will do anything to make themselves look better and that includes sacrificing you're measley little CDL career. People you don't want to get mixed up in this kind of company, especially if you're just starting out. You will make mistakes every now and then, do you want to lose every thing so they can look like they are complying with regulations when they're not. Yeah they have electronic logs but 90% of their equipment if inspected would be put out of service. P.M.s are past due on all of their trucks. All of rtheir trailers need brakes and Tires. Not to mention, all of their so called new trucks are already ragged out because they have the highest turn over rate in the trucking industry (fact) and the drivers they Piss off take their paybacks out on the equipment.

Yeah, more like to save them taxes. Who are you kidding? Let me guess? You are an ex-trucker? No way! You wouldn't be sitting where you are. This company is focused on the people in the office to make the money, not the drivers. It won't be long when this company has to make some serious changes to their pay package and management, because 95% of your drivers are not happy and looking for other jobs... Yes, I'll agree. WSX lacks qualified drivers and hires anybody. This hiring practice will break this company in the long run. What the drivers need here most importantly are: Guaranteed home time (When Promised), Better pay and benefit package, $100/day layover/breakdown pay, detention pay, More cents per mile and more miles. They need a better system in place top ensure drivers get more miles and also don't take it out of the driver managers pay if they pay layover or breakdown pay. If these things don't change this will continue to be a bad company to work for, period!!!
