local chip hauling

    I've seen that too. along with macks with the integral sleepers and petes with stand up 60" sleepers. I don't think the log boys worry much about weight do they? it sure looks funny though.

    Around here, I don't think they worry too much about anything... Weight, safety, speed, driving skills, CDL... they scare the hell outta me!:biggrin_2554:

    If I see one coming the other way, I almost want to hit the ditch and drive along the tree line. Yep, they're that bad.

    sounds like they are the same all over.My uncle owns a logging co and he has 5 trucks. his daughter owns one also. He driver has layed that truck over twice last year. I can't believe she still hasn't fired him.

    I too am in a prominent logging area and have seen numerous road-tractors(sleepers) hauling and have wondered how they are doing with all the added weight.

    wood chips. from the lumber mills going to places like paper mills, etc

    MM would have to answer this for an absolute but I am sure he is refering to wood chips. Hauling bulk Potato chips would be intersting though. Never have to stop at the 7-11.:biggrin_2559:
