So you want controlled markets were winners and losers are decided by the Gov and cronie capitalism? The right does not support small business? really ? thats what you think? Go ask a small business owner what it is like under the jackboot of the left.. Do you know that many of the products at a Walmart where marketed and sold to them by small entrepreneurs.
Walmart crushes the comp then raises prices? lol They buy cheap products because that is what the consumer wants, stuff cheap. And people want 1 stop shopping. Bureaucrats and innovation not Walmart crushed the comp.

You don't believe in free markets? Then go live in the EU where you pay half your wages or more to maintain tradition and the status quo. The interstate highways killed more Ma and Pa stores then Walmart. Maybe we should tear that up to save the dusty overpriced stuff you want to buy?

You really have no clue do you. Have you ever owned a retail business? I have owned two, successful also. The government is bought and paid for by big business and their lobbiest. They want to tell you what we have is free enterprise, but it's not. Laws are written to favor the big guys as far as taxes, deductions, ect. And really, do you want a 100% capitalist society? As I satated in another post, play a game of monopoly. The person lucky enough to land on Boardwalk or Park Place first has the advantage, and 99 times out of 100 they have all the money at the end, and everyone else is broke.

Corporations today only care about one thing, and one thing only, and that is making the most money possible and keeping the share holders happy, so the CEO can keep his job. You, your family or your friends, do not have any equasion in this except if the corporation can make more money without you. You are a pawn, and that is all. The queen will gladly sacrifice you to protect herself. That is 100% capitalism. There has to be some restraints. There are very few now. That is why you are working for 1995 wages while paying 2013 prices.

In a carefully controlled world the goverment doesn't control winners and loosers. That's what we have now. They are supposed to keep monopolies from moving in, pricing under market, running smaller competition out of business, then paying employees what they want, and charging the prices they want. Have you not looked at the all time record breaking price of the DOW? It's been breaking records for weeks. Companies are making the most they ever have. Has your pay gone up like the CEO's has? No it hasn't. How about your benefits? Worse than ten years ago? Their's isn't. Wake up and see what's happening. Big business has bought and paid for big government, and the common man is earning less and less in real dollars every day.

Unless a person is a vagabon that lives in a truck 365 days a year, look and see how much it really cost to own a home and live every day, and for those who live in their truck, how much does it cost to eat, pay taxes, insurance, plus every po-dunct DOT cop raping you every chance they get, and your 1990's wages to pay for it all.

The working man is getting it from all directions, while the top corporate people and government workers are living the high life from your taxes and the price you pay for goods compared to what you make.

Think about it before you get mad and respond. Look up some things. I have lived long enough to see the difference from where a family could survive with one person working at a not so great wage to where two people working as hard as they can, working any hour and any day of the week can barely scrape by, if they can even do that.

    Very nice counterpoint stranger...

The causes and solution to our problems are vast..

We are all to blame in this..

I also lost a business rebuilding auto parts to Chinese imports. Their product quality was inferior but american consumers have one specification.. Cheap .. plain and simple .. many make it sound like we are just zombies who
Dont have the ability to choose where we do business.
Most dont care who is losing their job unless it is their job.

This began many years ago and Americans failed each other.

Sorry you feel that way about American workers. When the "jackboot" of big business destroys your way of earning a living maybe you'll feel differently. I guess it all depends on what kind of propaganda from folks like Koch you're asking to be spoon fed. Some of us still realize that this country was built off the backs of labor, not big money.

History is repeating itself. The division between the rich and poor have surpassed the levels of the early 20th century. The same process but different names buying politicians.

Lewis Black said it best when he pointed out that the rich have the poor so duped that the poor are protesting to give rich people tax breaks..

Labor as in our labor. Our blood. Our sweat. Our tears. Not as in unions. The only thing big business has done in this country is screw the reat of us and blame us for it.
