Costco is a GREAT Company and picks NON "intoxicated" types, not those "with bad vibes" or "rude attitudes"! Suggest mirror first.

I thought Swift or National Freight had Monroe Township? At least they did when I was hauling box. They have their own fleet now?

Costco seems like a good job. I have a coworker who applied over in Monroe Township, NJ, and from what I heard, it's nothing but drop and hook, and top rate is going up to $25.50, but you start off at $18. Mostly night runs and you work about 8-10 hours a day. Sounds like an sweet job.

Costco out of Jersey is or at least was contacted out. Swift had a turn. Cowan had a turn. Even JB HUNT. If that is the case still, you would be working for JB HUNT or the like till they lose the contact and the next company takes over.

Costco out of Monroe Township has their own fleet. I see their trucks on the turnpike all the time. I think 90% of their loads are contracted and the rest are done by their own fleet. Costco seems to treat their employees real good. Their wage for all their employees is much higher than what Walmart pays.

Go to Costco's website and click on the job link and search for a position around your area and apply online. It usually takes about a month for them to call back or you will receive an email notification on whether they want an interview or not. I think they require 2 years experience.

Keep in mind that this is how it went over in Jersey. It may be different in other areas. If you get an interview, they will ask you about your background and experience and ask you some personal questions like what would you do in this situation and how would you handle that. If you pass the interview, you move on to the road test.

Depending on experience, the road test is pretty simple. You don't even leave the yard. They basically check to see how well you shift, pretrip inspection, and how well you backup. Once you pass your road test, then you will have to take a drug test and physical to get your Med Card.

Pay starts off around $18 an hour and you move up to top rate after a year and a half, which is around $25.50 . All drop and hook and possible yard jockey duties as well, but you hardly get any OT. They plan on switching to automatics in the future from what I heard. Don't know if they'll stick with KW's or not. Equipment is top notch and spotless. They definitely take pride in their appearance.
