Well look at this way, I got my first cel phone in 2001. At the time I had probably 20 - 30 phone numbers memorized in my head. Today I know mine, my wife and my carrier and often have to look on the phone to rember what they are?
How many can say with all honesty.. that they know more than 5 - 10 phone numbers today? Not saying folks dont,.. just that the majority dont know more than their own number.
25yrs ago I did just fine with out a mobile phone. Never saw the need for one. Now I honestly can not function or maintain day to day affairs with out one.
The back up assist feature still needs the operator to point it in the proper direction. It can not put the trailer in between two other objects with out driver assistance,.. the driver controls the gas and breaking,.. so I imagine this feature may cause quite a bit of damage hitting things with novice drivers thinking the technology will put it where they need it to go.

I got to get me one. Not that I don't know to back, it's just that I'm too lazy.
-
It will be a sight to see a swift truck back into 75 parked vehicles whilst yelling out the window
"The computer is backing up don't worry no mistakes!" -
Really, it's too hard to back up now? Anybody else think we are getting soft and stupid as a culture?
Ask anyone under 40 yrs old "what is 12 times 12"? .. useless conveniences are the dumbening of America I tell ya! -
When I look at the "softness" of America and our day to day living, we are paying dearly for such devices.
Why should I have to pay extra for say a back up camera on my next new car? Back up camera's ought to be an option not a forced add on we must pay for.
