Aww yea, that is how the whole manufacturing industry in this country works.
    Holiday on Saturday.
Office jockys, shipping and receiving quit work on Wednesday morning and stop shipments til next week.
Then when everyone wants to go back to work on Monday they can move everything they want for the lowest prices possible being that truckers have been sitting for 4 or 5 days.
Don't move anything over the holidays, wait til there over and get better prices.

    Typical holidays

There's a lot of places out here closing up shop on Friday this weekend. Lots of loads picking up today delivering Monday. TQL called me yesterday and was offering over $4 a mile on a load from Athens, GA to Monroe, LA pick today - he was vague "24 hr shipper - deliver tomorrow at 09:30. I declined the load.

Red flags popping up on it. He wasn't willing to pay my rate and I didn't want to have to deadhead home 500+ miles friday. You really have to be diligent on what you're booking any time even more so around holidays. If you have dispatchers and customer service reps at your carrier booking your loads and being your go-between to the customers and brokers this is the sort of thing that happens.

No-one will take care of #1 better than #1 will. They probably have lots of other trucks they are responsible for and don't have time to be picky, choosy for any driver. Book em a load and get em rolling. If you're going to be selective in a situation like that you'll get labeled as a whiney driver that complains, doesn't like the loads and will end up in a worse sort of way.

Had I been in your shoes that load never would have come off the dock into the trailer until I was clear on exact delivery details. Looks like now you're gonna have to do some trucking to get it delivered today or get stuck baby sitting it.

Well. I guess you get to find out how good you are at writing a log book. Unless you're on the electronic leash ...

    Them again?

I'm still trying. Don't drop without getting an okay first. If you drop we can't charge them more money for holding it

Staples is a pain in the butt, all appt. times are e-mail only out of FL office. Also, you only have a 30 minute window before and after your delivery time. They have fines for everything. Hope it worked out for you.

Driver manager. In other words, dispatcher. Lots of other terms for them, most not quite as complimentary.
If you hear somebody talking about have a load of "dispatcher brains" in his trailer, it means that he is running empty.;)
