Free Windows 10?

It's for pc. Haven't heard anything about tablets.

Google it. Articles are all over the net.

 

Don't know. But an Icon for it showed up on the task bar of my laptop one day, and I could not get rid of it (and it was slowing down the 'start-up' of my computer).
I went into the control panel and searched for it---not there. Went to my Start Menu and typed it into the search bar to search my hard drive for it---not there.
I was like "what???".
Then after about 2 weeks (and an auto update or two), it finally disappeared on it's own.

I did not ask for it. I did not want it. I did not trust it. I did not have a clue where it came from, how it got there, or what it was.

I like my Windows 7, and do not WANT to "upgrade". Mostly because I bought my wife a laptop with Windows 8, and it completely sucks. It sucks so bad she doesn't even use that laptop. I apologize to her every time I see her browsing the internet on her phone or Kindle.

Here's an idea Windows: If you are going to constantly "upgrade" your operating system to ATTEMPT to boost sales...you need to make the next operating system BETTER than the last one, not worse than Vista!

Windows 10 is suppoed to be better. I own every windows since 3.1. I don't own 8. 10 is supposed to be a combo of 7 with some 8 in it.

When I bought my laptop last year. It lasted days before I came home and dumped it for 7.

From what I read. You have to reserve your copy through the app store. It will automatically download when msft gets to you. THEN tell you it's installing. Not everybody is receiving at the same time. I don't know about the tablets.

When I get home. I'm thinking of buying a 10 laptop. To replace my just about dead computer. Since I can buy a laptop cheaper then I can build another machine that I don't do much with these days.

Msft knows 8 sucks, therefore the free 10. What gets on my skin. Is why I feel the need to have my computers operate in the same manner as those with cell phones and tablets. I don't own a windows phone or tablet. I'm fine with android.

 

Windows 10 upgrade is free. The NSA is paying for it.

 

Pc, tablet, laptop- if it is Windows, it can be upgraded to 10. Like a lot of folks, I didn't care for 8, especially the tiles, but using a free program to bring back the start button etc, I have been doing okay with 8.1. I will go with 10 but quite a few won't as it will be a matter of choice. This will not be a forced install, you do not have to do it. But if you do, there is no turning back from what I have read. For example, you will not be able to rollback to 7 if you install 10. So think about it before you push the button.

 

There's no going back with 8 either. And I think 7 also got stripped. As far as downgrades.

But there IS a way to go back. If you don't mind doing a reinstall of windows.

 

It was in with an automatic update from windows. I ignored it too. My wife had Windows 8, which I can't stand, but she went ahead with the Windows 10 upgrade. 10 should be alright, usually about every other operating system windows comes out with is good.
