I will say if you're looking for the answer you're probably really looking for us to change your mind as to the answer you've already made.
Trucking is the LIFESTYLE not the job.
Your life will revolve around Trucking not the other way around.
I'm Happy when I'm Trucking and content when I'm Static.
If your not even in Trucking yet and your concern is how happy Trucking can make you then you don't need to become a Trucker.redoctober83, Balakov100 and o/otony Thank this. -
life is what you make it. Im pretty happy doing food service deliverly. I'm not a hermit i get to talk to a ton of people everyday, do some pretty challenging things like take a rig set up for over the road driving (condo sleeper 48 ft reefer) into inner city bronx and queens where i have no business with a 65ft house and manage to make that corner that all the locals said I wouldn't.
3 generation trucker in my family. matter of fact my dad started out doing the exact same thing im doing and in the same city also. food service is deff not your regular driving job tho.
If you told me 2yrs ago id be driving I'd of told you no way, kind of just happened i guess..... driving came naturally to me, used to race motocross since I was a wee little guy......pops owned a stone quarry business on the side, i was always messing around with the skidsteer and 973 dozer. thats what turns you into a man not playing video games all day -

Trucking has gotten me a home, a couple of rental properties, a couple of vehicles, a Harley, and a divorce.
I'm not educated, but I have a nice lifestyle and I'm generally happy with my choice of profession. In the 24 years I've been doing it I've thought about quitting a few times, but there's nothing like seeing the sunrise on a lonesome highway with only your own thoughts.redoctober83 Thanks this. -
