This market will soon thin the herd, the cheap freight specialist will soon go out of business and go back to flipping burgers which is much more suited to their talents,.

You are right, the brokers are all getting $5 per mile on every load and selling it to you for 1.50.

If it pays $1.50, DON'T TAKE IT, pretty simple.

Brokers are out to make the most money that they can not intentionally screwing the owner operator...... What is funny....... You are out to do the same thing, make the most money that you can..... Hmmmm funny that there is a double standard. Sounds like you need better skills..... Or learn to say a very important word.... NO!

When I was doing outdoor wood refinishing, i.e. decks and fences, they guy that was showing me the ropes said the best tool you can have is a good pair of tennis shoes. That way when you come to a deck that has been painted you can run away faster.

Do we really even need brokers? I mean with technology in all much of it can be done in a short period of time. I feel that if carriers got rid of the middle man by dealing straight with the shippers much of the headache and the high chance of failure would be significantly reduced. Just to be fair this would not apply to all Brokers because some really do a good job.

It's supply and demand. This year hasn't been good. Foreigners coming in to hit the jackpot. There just isn't enough loads for the amount of trucks out there. Most treat this has been industry, as a job, not as a business.

I love the buying and selling of freight mentality. We aren't pork bellies on the futures market! If you know a broker is getting $5 per mile from a shipper you have the right to see their invoice. But, once you finally see it don't plan on loading for that broker again, lol.

This year sucks for good freight. I'm reliving 2009 personally, slow freight, poor work ethic and my wife being becoming terminally ill. After 38 years my motto is: Trucking sucks and some days it's worse!

Bad ethics all around in trucking, with the way things are right now, I just want consistent freight, that's the only way to ride this storm. Find a lane and stay with it.
