In my experience, its been operations who failed to keep their promises.

They can't take the chance of someone who is informed informing the uninformed.

Its called a hard breaking event if u jam your breaks very very hard for any reason they can see how your driving 60 seconds leading up to event including following distance before the event and during. Gotta slow down like 15mph in a 2second period i beleive is peremeters or close to that. Pretty hard to do. But they can see how u were driving n what caused event through forward camera and a spreadsheet measuring all details. If they see your following distance is bad in 60 seconds before then they see it as u set your self up to the vulnerability. The consequence is a call from ur dm n a briefing explaining what happen n if there was anything you could have done better as a driver. Not a big deal unless u get them over and over.

Just another way of micromanaging drivers...Dont you just love all the new Safety technology. Beep beep beep beep....if you ask me all the #### beeping distracts the hell outta u. And even if the hard break is not your fault they still "Coach" you and ask what u couldve done different haha. Not much when ur cut off in the worst way.

Not to mention can disrupt the sleep of a co-driver while he or she is sleeping which can lead to other safety issues.

Much like with idling regulations, the quality of a driver's sleep is merely a secondary concern.

I have driven for JB Hunt for awhile now. I've had both trucks with and without governorsa and the infamous bendix safetys system. While I agree the automatic braking system and low tolerances safety system is a joke, it takes a lot of the guesswork out of your drive. I see people gripinga about the speed governor...deal with it. Several companies have it. It's to save on fuel costs because many idiots would drive with the hammer down all the time if they weren'tg governed.

If your husband is unhappy with JB then quit. It's that simple. Then he can go to another companya nd be a cry baby there and you can be his beard and post for him some more here.

Between the negative ######## you guys spout here and the lies about how unfair JB is, I think you are bat crap crazy. I make $1150 a week. I do my job and don't cry about hard work (I self lumper all my loads), and I get home to my family weekly. I pay less than $60 a week in benefitsg that are awesome, and I get from this company what I give them.
It seems like every one of these truckers sites has some truckers wife (beard) cryin about how hard he's worked, and how little money he makes. Suck it up buttercup or tell your husband to find a different type of job.
This industry isn't known for creating millionaire you are paid what you were wort so if you're not making a lot of mone then that tells you what your company thinks about you.
And I especially love you ####ing moron that haven't even worked for this company but you want to pass judgement based on what some friend of yours said. #### and grow a sack.Create your own thoughts based on experience not just on what people tell you, because they probably did something to #### their job up here.

Simply put...If u were told all the dedicated positions were filled its because someonem more qualified got that spot. If your truck is governed, it's because that's the company standards. If you constantly set off your safety device then you are following too close. 7 seconds is nearly a quarter mile at 62. If your getting cut off its cuz u r tailgating.
If anybody else wishes to get on here and cry and whine and cry and ##### and complain about how terrible jb Hunt is, please just don't because u r the problem, not JB Hunt or any other trucking company.

Last company I worked for had non-governed trucks. There was an former Navy guy that drove for them and he pretty much had the pedal glued to the floor 100% of the time. He ran a 2009 KW T800 w/ Eaton 13-spd & Cummins ISX15 and the company allowed the local KW dealer to set the max speed at 90MPH which was above what the engine was capable of with the rev limiter thereby effectively eliminating the speed governor. That particular driver normally managed about 300 - 350 miles out of his 100g tank.
