cuz so many drunken 4 wheelers stop on the shoulder to pee or puke, and it stinks driving in the right lanes.

To an extent this is true. But if you heard the stories on trucker news that we hear, you'd understand. You never read headlines that say Car plays Dangerous Game with Truck and loses.
They always read Truck doesn't slow down, and kills family of four. Well, the problem with that is that the truck insurance gets to pay out, not the other way around. So the company fires the driver for supposedly causing fatal crash, when all it is really is they are mad that they received negative publicity. Now the driver has the hardest time finding another job. He loses his house, he loses his vehicle, and still can't find a job. A big price to pay for someone else's decision.
I'm oversize all the time. So I face even more difficult decisions. When I get over, its because I have to. Whether they let me or not,I'm coming over. You see if you decide you don't want to let me over cuz I'm moving slow, I call that an ####### move. Well, Mr deputy sheriff is ahead of me doing a traffic stop and I'm hanging four feet over in the shoulder. So if I don't get over I kill a man trying to earn an honest dollar in uniform, If I do get over a run an ####### off the road, who at least is shielded by his own vehicle, un like the sheriff who's body is gonna be flung somewhere and killed on the spot. Now, if there's truly consequences to our decisions, which death is more justifiable in your opinion? Considering half the general population driving cars don't know how to merge (waiting until their lane completely runs out to figure out what to do, and slamming on their brakes rather than speeding up to highway speeds) , that might be a reason why we don't want to be in the right hand lane.

The speed limit (for most of that run) is 70 mph and we always got some ### hole running 60 in the middle lane. No! Just no!
Son if your truck can't run the speed limit stay the hell out of the middle lane. Trucks can't legally hit the hammer lane in that stretch and it is by far the most frustrating thing I have experienced as a driver.
And bull #### on it being safer riding the middle lane. You've become a giant slow moving blockade in a lane that isn't meant for you. Move!

In a way I disagree while yes my truck is one of the slowest governed on the roads I am still faster than a few especially others from my own company but I'm not gonna slow down and loose my momentum for a slower truck I'm gonna move over a lane if you happen to be a ways back deal with it. If your faster and can reach and pass before I need to pass I'll let you by but if you too far back im just gonna hit my chance regardless of you closing in on me thems the breaks I don't control that if I had my say my truck would run almost 80 but I don't swift caps me at 68 with their trailers so to avoid being told to no longer run swift loads and try to make a truck payment with no cash flow I bit the bullet and capped my truck at 68 . -
All this.....drama....just so you can get somewhere 5minutes faster

I agree it's BS but certain circumstances with my truck the brakes can be the difference between on time and up to an hour late swift loves fuel economy not practicality

Most truck drivers are paid by the mile and it costs money every time they touch their brakes. Driving under the speed limit is not done by choice. Most trucks are driven at a single speed with the pedal all the way to the floor at all times.
