miles driven per week times amount paid per mile plus border crossing plus drops plus pickups = otr income
you can deduct almost all of your expenses for tools ets, meal allowance in canada is around 80 per cent
I was told the average first year driver brings home 700 a week if they make 1000 per week
The problem of course is the number of miles per week as this varies greatly from company to company. Then of course there are those days where you spend sitting and waiting for whatever and you are not being paid
Locally it ranges from region to region with some getting a salary others get paid per day and others getting an hourly rate
As someone else mentioned the variables are huge so if you are counting getting the same check week in and week out at least OTR it is not going to happen on a paid per mile basis
Typical take home pay per year.

That far north of Edmonton, are you close to Ft Mac? I don't know how the industry is going up there but as an idea for local near Calgary I can still get $20-$25. Now I do have experience so knock some off. (Yay my first post!)

Id say ft mac or grand prairie. Ltl in ft mac is busy as can be with the cnrl expansion and ft hills construction.

You can gross $50-55 K doing easy automotive parts runs, home every day type of deal, 10-12 hrs a day. You can make more OTR, but the trade off is not worth it IMO. So your take home would be about $800/wk.

20-25 bucks....is that supposed to be good money? I was making that in 1990.
Bloody ridiculous wages these days. -
My weeks look like this
820 net
980 net
830 net
1020 net
740 net
930 net
If you want gross, just add 33% to them. That's how much I make a week.
No 401k, no company health (I opt out and save by paying full price with Bluecross)
..etc
I work a lot. I'd like to earn more. -
