That sounds like a simple solution and it may be much simpler than I thought. However, a couple of years ago when I bought my tablet, it wasn't blatantly obvious which ones had the chips and which ones didn't. I know the Motorola has one, Samsung has them built-in (will never buy a Samsung anything, personal choice), seems like I remember Acer having them built-in. I don't care what the i-Stuff has, I'm not an i-person and have no intentions of being one.
What you use instead of MS streets and trips?

acer has one, yes. but does it work is anyone's guess.
acer was the first one out with gps. but it didn't work. bestbuy didn't even know the product existed. IN THEIR OWN STORE. once they found out they carried such a product. they ALL swore up and down it wouldn't work without internet. even though i had been using copilot for a year prior to acer releasing their gps tablet.
when wondering if a tablet has built in gps. ALWAYS do your online research. before buying. google is your friend.
it's usually the cheaper tablets that don't have gps. all they'll have is wifi. in which case trying to use another device as a gps transmitter won't work anyways. it won't have bluetooth either. -
