Since money is real tight, stock up on some Ramen Noodles, instant coffee, etc. for use in between meals. Microwave use if free in hotels and truckstops. If you go to Henderson you'll have a private room to yourself plus they give you $100.00 cash weekly plus free meals while in CDL school. They seem to have about the best program available.

    Enovvy Thanks this.

Sorry but that is CONSTRUCTIVE input.I'm actually looking out for you.I have ran into many EX drivers who went in with not a dime in their pocket and lasted a month or so and were financially ruined because of it.

Do what you need to do driver.Hope I'm wrong and your still here in a year or so doing good.

Maverick is OK, but if you were fired from another job they won't hire you.
Some other companies have the same benefits though concerning CDL training:
    KLLM
    Southern Refrigerated Transport

I still like Henderson the best.

    Enovvy and SHOJim Thank this.

If you're looking for "pie in the sky" fluff answers to the questions you have posed you are already in deep trouble. There was nothing wrong with the other driver's answer at all. As I stated also, if you are destitute and have no money in the bank or in your pockets.. wait until you do. Between school, travel, waiting on training, training and then waiting some more, orientation, and then road time to make ANY money at all, you are looking at about three months of having little to no income.
