    anyone here works for Sysco or have in the past, trying to get a good idea on them before I apply in the Memphis tn area

    Yeah, but don't forget to mention the orccasional "accidental" case of cheese falling and breaking open. No longer viable for the consumer.....So driver is making that Cheedah, yo!

    I don't work for Sysco, but I work for there direct competitor and in some cases one of there biggest threats. It's not like trucker trucking. You're going to be running up and down a ramp for 90% of the day you'll be driving anywhere from 50-167 miles a day. You'll probably be loaded between 10,000-28,000lbs a day so about 400 cases on a light day to about 900 cases on a heavy day.

    I think Thursday before Thanksgiving I had 987 cases which is a good days work. Tuesday I had 737 cases, but an 18,000LBS load which well after pushing 18,000 off the back and doing 17 stops you'll be ready to sit down.

    Now Sysco most of there trucks are automatics which is nice when you're in the city and dense down town traffic all day and doing heavy dense multiple stop routes. Where you run 50-60 cases off then hop back in the truck drive 1/4 mile up the road and roll off another 100 cases.

    Sysco also has a lot of Italian Food offerings then the company I work for so they do a lot more pizza and submarine sandwich shops. Pizza Shops are heavy they get heavy stuff flour, cheese, a lot of produce because most pizza shops also do salad, if the place makes it's own sauce then you'll be running in a lot of 6-10 cans because that's what the ingredients to make pizza sauce come in. Fryer oil you'll have that.

    Sysco pulls a mix of different trailers mostly 28 and 36 footers. However what's cool about Sysco trailers are they are fairly narrow and not all that high. Where I work our trucks are not obnoxiously high, but our trailers while there only 28' they are boxy for a 28' trailer.

    Sysco does have some trouble with loading trailers out on time and you will be digging through the trailer hunting for cases. Sysco also may work you on a fairly long day it's not uncommon for you to be working 11-12 hours a day I usually work 10-11 hours a day.

    Sysco dispatches trucks out of the warehouse at all different times, some trucks leave early 12:00am and others leave later 7:00-8:00am. Probably by 7-8am all the trucks are out.

    However there's the occasional warehouse problem and everyone gets dispatched way late and it's not cool.
    Pays good though Sysco a good paying company you'll earn the money though.
