My issue with that company was s cams busting loose due to their 8 packs rusting out. Their solution to 100 plus trucks rusting out? Buy 12 a year.

Signs of a bad company. When they give new rookies uncleaned, unkept trucks that you have to clean yourself. Just saw this over at a SNI board, some rookie was given a dirty truck and he found some excrement behind the bed area. Pretty disgusting. SNI have old freightliners too. Rather then thinking about money that 1st year, I'd be looking at what type of equipment they are running. So..

I started at my first company schneider 20 years ago , my first solo truck they were going to give me had both side mirrors pretzeled, wouldn't start and no one knew where the keys were. It was parked in some ####hole drop lot outside of Buffalo, and they were finally going to let me get rid of my idiot C-team partner(trainee/trainee team driving). I convinced them to let me keep the truck I was in and give the non running POS to my former team driver. (Which was a relief because HE COULDNT READ.) SNI's maintenance was and still is the absolute worst of all companies I have worked for. There must be some code among Wisconsin based companies like SNI and Veriha that they keep running old ill-maintained equipment and micromanage their drivers to the point of insanity.

Problem with Schneider is the drivers beat the hell out of it then they don't fix ANY cosmetic issues. The way to have a nice tractor is to get a brand new one issued and take care of it.

I had a decent Columbia glider and drove it for about 100,000 miles. Had to go on medical leave and when I came back I got one of those nasty trucks on the inside. Needless to say I was out of my original tractor for about 2 months when I saw it at a terminal. In the 2 months that I went on medical leave and came back the farings were totally bent and damaged on both sides by the next driver. Looked like the driver jackknifed the tractor trailer to both the sight and blind sides because both sides were totally damaged.

After a couple months in the nasty truck I was put back in the original one and at that point I looked like an idiot that doesn't know how to turn around lol.

Add in the fact that they don't clean out trucks for new drivers (they pay you to clean it out for them) it's never fun getting assigned a "new" piece of equipment.

That unfortunately is what happens when you take time off.

    Sad but true.

As nasty as that tractor is its kind of humorous that he had a fly swatter of all things.
