Indeed.
If the OP lives in a state with labor laws that go above and beyond those of the Fed, it will pretty much be a given that any company operating there with an hourly pay system will bend over backwards to limit having to pay any driver the overtime wage.

Pitt-Ohio pays OT after 40, but only after you reach 3 years seniority. Before that, all hours are straight time.

We (UPS freight) get OT after 8 or 40.
i think all Sunday hrs are OT irregardless if over 8 or 40. Not sure on this will check when i get a chance. -
Bob Dobalina Thanks this.

Conway Freight (now XPO) pays OT after 8/40 in the North, but none until 50 hours in the Southern states. Unions are less of a threat down South, and that's the appreciation they get for not being troublemakers.
Texas_hwy_287 and bottomdumpin Thank this. -
skinnytrucker Thanks this.

I don't wish to name my employer, but we get overtime after 40 hours.
most of our routes are between 6 and 10 hours to finish, but we're short on drivers and so there's a lot of extra work to be picked up, I've worked right up to 70 hours a time or two in a week and no one has ever given me crud about making OT.
Of course I'm also willing to drive a yard goat and hostle. which means I get to more oppurtunities to pick up extra shifts. -
